Swimming trials for WNSC are being held on Thursday 4th April 2019 at the Alive St James pool Kings Lynn.
We are a friendly, inclusive, competitive swimming club for all ages (6 - 90). We compete in several local leagues and are in Division 1 for our area National league. We train at the pools in both Downham Market and Kings Lynn, with additional land training and 50m training for the more advanced squads.If successful your child will invited to join a squad suitable for their ability with the opportunity of upward progression. You will be given full details of membership and training fee’s if successful. Come along and join us!
Why is it running?
The trials are primarily aimed at identifying young swimmers with the potential to progress with their swimming and provide the pathway to competitive swimming.
Most swimmers will initially join our development squad, however the trials coach will recommend which squad is most suited to progress the swimmer after the trial.
Who is it aimed at?
- Are able to swim 50m continuously without stopping and with good technique
- Must be able to swim Front Crawl, Backstroke and Breaststroke for a minimum of 50m with good technique.
- Must have an idea of butterfly, especially dolphin kick
- Must be able to tread water for a minimum of 60 seconds
- Must be keen to take their swimming further
What happens after the trials?
All successful children will be required to fill in joining paperwork and pay a monthly members fee before starting swimming with the club, parents/ guardians to complete the paperwork depending on swimmers age.
Those who are unsuccessful on this occasion will receive advice to enable them to continue with their swimming development.
Other trials will take place during the year and swimmers are welcome to attend again.
